In Year Admissions
If you are new to the area or would like to request a transfer to Moor Park High School and Sixth Form, please contact the school on 01772 795428 and ask to speak to the Admissions Officer. Alternatively, you are welcome to visit the school to discuss your enquiry in person. The Admissions Office is open during term time only, from 9:30am to 2:30pm.
If you wish to apply for Moor Park High School, you must fill out the In Year Admission Request Form below and email it to [email protected]. Following submission of an In-Year Admission Application, we will contact you within 14 days to advise whether a place is available for your child.
If a Place is Available
If there is a vacancy in the relevant year group, you will be invited to meet with the Deputy Headteacher or Head of Year to discuss the transfer process.
Before the meeting, we will contact your child’s current or most recent school to gather relevant information. Following the meeting, arrangements will be made for your child to attend an assessment to help ensure they are placed in the most appropriate class and teaching group.
If the Year Group is Full
If there are no places available, your child’s details will be added to our waiting list and ranked in accordance with the school’s published admissions criteria.
Once your child has been placed on the waiting list, we will only contact you if a place becomes available.
Appeals
If a place cannot be offered, you will receive written confirmation from the school. Upon receiving this decision, you have the right to appeal and must submit your appeal within 21 days of the date of the letter confirming that no place is available.
This can be done through Lancashire County Council with any supporting information or evidence. The appeal provides an opportunity for you to explain why you would like your child to attend Moor Park High School.

Please note that if your child is unhappy in their current school for whatever reason, such as concerns about bullying, friendships, or not getting on with a teacher, we strongly recommend that you first discuss these issues with the Headteacher of your child’s current school. Changing schools can be disruptive for a child and is not generally encouraged where concerns can be resolved within the existing school setting.
Due to the volume of admission enquiries we receive, it is school policy to retain admission requests for one school term only. After this period, applications and associated information will be confidentially disposed of in accordance with our data protection procedures.
If you still require a school place in the following term, please contact the school to confirm that you would like your child’s details to remain on our waiting list.
