Appeal Process
In-Year Appeals
If your application for a place at Moor Park High School and Sixth Form is unsuccessful because the school is full, you will receive written confirmation from the school within 14 days.
Once you have received this decision, you have the right to appeal. Appeals must be submitted within 21 days of the date of the letter confirming that no place is available.
Appeals are administered by Lancashire County Council and provide an opportunity for you to explain why you would like your child to attend Moor Park High School and Sixth Form. You may also submit any supporting information or evidence to support your case.
Year 7 Appeals
If your child has not been offered a Year 7 place at Moor Park High School and Sixth Form because the school is full, you have the right to appeal the decision.
Appeals must be lodged within 21 days of receiving the letter confirming that a place cannot be offered. Appeals are considered independently by Lancashire County Council, and parents/carers may provide additional information or evidence in support of their appeal.
Waiting Lists
You may request for your child’s name to be placed on a waiting list in addition to submitting an appeal.
If a place becomes available, it will be offered to the child with the highest priority in accordance with the school’s published admissions criteria.
Further information about the appeals process, including appeal forms and guidance notes, is available on the Lancashire County Council website.
