Enrichment at Moor Park Sixth Form

Moor Park sixth form’s enrichment programme is an example of what can be done to enrich students’ education and personal development beyond the classroom. The higher education programme is varied from a vast array of speakers to outside trips and visits. The programme prepares students to meet the demands of the world of work or further study with confidence and commitment. The programme is extensive and managed by the head of sixth form and the sixth form learning mentor.

There is additional support in assisting students to be prepared for LNAT and BMAT tests which are essential for law and medicine in some red brick universities. The prestigious university programme which runs alongside the higher education programme increases the students’ chances of standing out from the crowd at either a job or university interview.

Enrichment takes place on a Wednesday afternoon for both year groups and the sessions vary in length depending on the pathway that students have selected.

At the end of year 12 all students are encouraged to take part in the work shadowing scheme and generally this is linked to their post 16 chosen career. Students are also involved in supporting the community and many enjoy the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme.
