Item and Description Additional Guidance
Blazer
*Royal Blue embroidered with the school logo
  • Pupils must wear the blazer at all times
  • Pupils are not permitted to carry water bottles or large wads of paper in the pockets of their blazers
  • Blazers can be removed in classrooms with permission from the class teacher
  • Pupils must not roll up blazer sleeves
  • The only badges permitted on blazers are those issue by school, for example; merit badges, DoE badges, prefect badges etc.  No other badges are permitted.
ShirtWhite school shirt
  • The shirt must be of the type that buttons up all the way to the collar
  • The top button of the shirt must be buttoned up
  • Shirts must always be tucked into trousers/skirts
Trousers
  • Plain dark grey school trousers
  • No other styles / types of trousers are permitted
  • Trousers must be worn at the waist and not low slung
  • Any belts worn with trousers are required to be plain black
Skirt
*Regulation grey school Skirt with school logo
This is an OPTIONAL item of uniform
  • Pupils who choose to wear a skirt must wear the regulation school skirt purchased from the official school uniform supplier
  • Skirts must be knee length at the back and the front (do not have it rolled up)
  • If a pupil chooses to wear a skirt it MUST be worn with plain black opaque tights (no less than 30 denier).  Sock and/or leggings cannot be worn over tights.
Jumper
* Pullover (grey/gold trim) with school logo
  • This is a compulsory part of the school uniform and must be worn at all times
  • Jumpers cannot be tucked into trousers/skirts and/or be tied back with bands
  • Jumpers can be removed in classrooms with permission from the class teacher
Tie
*Royal blue and gold stripe (Velcro fastening only)
  • School ties must be worn at all times with the top button of the shirt fastened
  • There must be a minimum of seven stripes showing on the tie
  • If pupils undo the Velcro ties to wrap them around and make them larger – they will have to purchase a replacement
Shoes
Plain black formal shoes
  • No boots, ankle boots, trainers or shoes with logos, jewelled shoes are not allowed
  • For health and safety reasons all school shoes must be waterproof, sturdy and provide adequate protection for the feet
  • It is necessary that school shoes need to have a substantial and protective sole (thin/flimsy ballet pumps are not appropriate)
  • Pupils may wear plain black pumps / plimsole style shoes (no logo at all)
Socks
  • Pupils choosing to wear a skirt must wear with black opaque tights
  • Underneath trousers all pupils must wear plain black trouser socks
  • Trainer socks / ankle socks are not permitted under school trousers.
  • Coloured or patterned socks are not permitted
Coats
  • Coats must be fit for purpose and provide adequate protection from adverse weather conditions (waterproof, hooded etc)
  • Coats are not allowed to be worn in the building
  • Pupils must remove their coats prior to entering the building
Jewellery
  • No jewellery is permitted in school
  • Pupils are permitted to wear a wristwatch.
  • No chains, bracelets, necklaces, earrings or studs etc are permitted
  • No body piercings (nose, tongue, lip, eyebrow, navel etc) are permitted for health and safety reasons
School bag & Equipment

It is compulsory for all pupils to carry a School bag

All pupils must have their planner and writing equipment at all times

  • The school bag must be a rucksack or backpack.  No other style of school bag (handbags, satchels, drawstring bags etc) are permitted.
  • This is to ensure that students are evenly distributing the weight of all their belongings across both shoulders, rather than just one.
  • The bag must be waterproof and offer protection to books and planners
  • All bags must be large enough to accommodate an A4 book or folder completely, without damage
  • School bags with inappropriate slogans or phrases are not permitted
  • Compulsory equipment items:  A minimum of 2 blue or black pens, 1 Pencil, Ruler, Eraser, Pencil case to store and protect equipment
  • It is recommended that pupils have a highlighter pen, pencil sharpener, green pen and glue stick as well.
Hairstyles
Hair longer than shoulder length must be tied back fully in a simple style
  • Hair must be one natural colour
  • No shaved heads, mohawks and other extreme hairstyles.
  • We recommend hair is no shorter than a ‘number 2’
  • No ‘tram lines’ or shaved in partings are permitted
  • Hair bobbles/bands must be plain black.
  • No flowers or other ornaments in the hair are permitted
  • Pupils for whom religious belief or cultural heritage/customs and protected characteristics are expressed through are permitted to observe this practice.
Make-up

Make-up is not permitted

  • Nail varnish is not permitted
  • For health and safety reasons pupils are not permitted to wear false / have long nails
  • Fake tan is not permitted
  • False eyelashes/lash inserts are not permitted
  • Shaved / painted / heavily drawn on eyebrows are not permitted.
  • Unnatural coloured contact lenses are not permitted
Religious Observation:

MUSLIM PUPILS

Hijaab:  Plain black school issue with the school logo on the back**

Topi: plain black topi

  • The Hijaab and Topi are not a compulsory item of uniform
  • This is for Muslim pupils who WISH to wear a headscarf or prayer cap for religious observation
  • Hijaabs can be purchased from the school office
  • Hijaabs cannot be tucked into shirts collars or blazers and must be worn in a style that ensures the school shirt and tie are visible at all times
  • The wearing of the niqab or any type of veil is not permitted.
Religious Observation: 

SIKH PUPILS

Turban: plain black

  • A turban is not a compulsory item of uniform
  • This is for Sikh pupils wishing to wear a turban for religious observation
  • The turban must be plain black with no logos or adornments
  • Sikh pupils are permitted to wear ONE Kara as per religious requirement
Head Coverings
  • Where pupils religious/cultural beliefs require headwear, or where pupil need to wear head coverings for medical reasons, these must be plain black
  • Head coverings with bold colours of patterns are not permitted
  • Head coverings with inappropriate words or images are not permitted
  • Political and offensive items are not permitted

Parents are advised to ensure that all pupils’ clothing and footwear is clearly labelled with their name and year group.

Any lost clothing will be taken to the lost property box in the school office. All lost property will be retained for one month and will be disposed of if it is not collected within this time.
