The Governors of Moor Park High School and Sixth Form are seeking to appoint an inspirational Headteacher – an individual with a deep appreciation for the heritage of our school, who understands that true leadership lies in preserving its core values while strategically shaping its ongoing journey of growth and excellence. The successful candidate will be a dynamic leader, capable of nurturing a vibrant, inclusive and high-achieving school community where every student is empowered to thrive. Moor Park is a small, popular Foundation School in the heart of Preston, serving a culturally diverse and economically disadvantaged catchment, although one that is engaged, aspirational, and committed to educational success. We are therefore proud of our comprehensive ethos, excellent results, and oversubscription year-on year.

Our new Headteacher will be an experienced and accomplished leader, with a proven track record of securing positive outcomes for learners. They will demonstrate a supportive and facilitative leadership style, underpinned by a firm belief that a positive, inclusive, and aspirational school community is the foundation for sustained success and growth. They will also be committed to providing a warm and inclusive environment for our students, with our young people being at the heart of all we do.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds Qualified Teacher Status and a relevant degree.
  • Is an experienced and outstanding Deputy Headteacher or Headteacher with a proven track record of successful, quantifiable school leadership.
  • Demonstrates excellence in teaching, curriculum development and school improvement.
  • Is committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and the wellbeing of staff and students.
  • Has strong communication, behaviour management, and organisational skills.
  • Can inspire confidence, drive innovation and build effective relationships.
